In our Strange Objects workshop, 7 to 11-year-olds can use their special story-hunting skills to discover crazy histories, strange facts and unbelievable secrets at our Level 73 Cabinet of Curiosity and Wonder Exhibition. They can cast spells, fight dragons and topple giants in a story-telling fantasy adventure led by the random turn of cards in our ‘Trapdoor Quest’ workshop. Footscray Community Arts Centre - Extreme Arts: School Holiday Arts Program - Our September school holiday program is exploding with creative and dynamic workshops in circus, dance & visual arts. Children aged 6 – 12 years will create and collaborate alongside artists from the community to learn skills, make new friends and have fun. 26 to 28 September 2017.

Gasworks Arts Park - Gasworks’ kids holiday programs offer creative and entertaining experiences for children aged 4 to 14 during the school holidays. Bringing together a range of energetic artists and performers who specialise in working with kids, the workshops, performances and classes are imaginative, engaging and fun.

Josh Cohen School of Music - a school holiday program this spring holidays.  Our holiday program is designed for kids aged between seven and twelve to experience a unique curriculum of aural training, listening, performance, songwriting, music history, improvisation, rhythm and lots of fun musical games. CYC City Day Camps - a brand new holiday program, right in the heart of Melbourne. CYC City Day Camps are for children in primary school, and run from 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday during the school holidays.

Daylesford Spa Country Railway – This volunteer not-for-profit heritage railway operates a variety of historic diesel railmotors every Sunday from the picturesque town of Daylesford, through the state forest and along the top of the Great Divide to Bullarto, Victoria’s highest railway station. You can also visit the famous Sunday market held in the station grounds and the railway museum, with the fully restored station building housing an interpretive display showcasing the importance of Victoria’s rail heritage.

National Institute of Circus Arts Australia (NICA) - Spring holiday program.

Rock Academy - A school holiday program that helps develop the skills of teen musicians. Participate in song writing sessions, form bands and be mentored by some of Australia's leading professional musicians like Phil Ceberano in preparation for a weeks’ end performance. This is not a class based program, as much time as possible is spent rocking! 2 to 6 October 2017.

Science and engineering

3D Bizkidz - Get ready for this holiday program; 3D Minecraft Build Battle, brought to you by the 3D Bizkidz team - KW, EN, PN, KX. Compete with your friends to see who can build the best! Then, bring your build battle creations to life using 3D Printing! Small class (only 6 spots) and each student to one 3D printer. ANSTO Australian Synchrotron School Holiday Sessions for VCE Students - Strictly for VCE Physics students who did not have the chance to visit the ANSTO Australian Synchrotron in Term 3 2017. The Australian Synchrotron is one of the southern hemisphere's most significant scientific facilities, with applications from medicine and nanotechnology to manufacturing and mineral exploration. It uses accelerator technology to produce a powerful source of light – x-rays and infrared radiation – a million times brighter than the sun. The VCE Sessions are held in ANSTO's Interactive Learning Centre which includes equipment not normally found in schools. Sessions include a tour of the Synchrotron where students will obtain a deep understanding of how research using synchrotron and nuclear techniques deliver a wide range of benefits. 3 to 4 October 2017.

Club Engineer - Build and program robots with Lego Mindstorms or write then play your own computer games. Club Engineer teaches tech-savvy kids, teens and young adults engineering principles through robotics and game programming. The junior program is for students from year five to year seven and prepares them for entering the Robocup Rescue competition. The middle and senior school programs are for students from year eight and beyond and teaches game programming using a variety of commercial languages and tools. All course-ware is available online for free for those who cannot make it to a face-to-face session.

e2 Young Engineers - Hands-on LEGO® Challenge workshops where students build educational motorized models like amusement park rides, aircraft, transportation vehicles, cranes etc. Through the use of exciting experiments and building originally designed LEGO® bricks models that illustrate Science and Engineering topics your child will have FUN while improving creativity, concentration, visual-spatial and social skills just to name a few. Lego kits, battery, motor with visual instructions will be provided.

Golden Gear Robotics S.T.E.A.M Laboratory - Technology adventures: kids learn to code through building and programming Lego Mindstorms and Lego Edison robots. Learn about circuits through fun & creative electronic craft activities in our mobile makerspace. Northcote, Melbourne.

AFL Victoria Holiday Programs - The AFL Victoria School Holiday Program introduces both boys and girls who are turning 5 and turning no older than 12 in the year they register to the basic skills of Australian Football. The program is a fun and inclusive program for boys and girls and includes skill development, fun activities, minor games and modified games. O’Brien Group Arena - Ice skating

Okukan Karate Just for Kicks! - OKUKAN teaches kids beginner karate classes during the school holidays, for 5-8 year olds and 9-15 year olds. All lessons are taught by head and founding karateka Sensei Sandra in Coburg and Collingwood.

Peninsula Bike Skills - The Dirt-Riderz School Holiday Program is a full day of riding the mountain bike tracks and trails of Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula supervised by experienced mountain bike instructors. Cost: $35 to $65 per person.

X-Golf Knox - An indoor golf simulator centre that allows children to play on the best golf courses from around the world. The simulators also allow you to play a par-3 course and practice your driving, chipping and putting. $20 per child for up to two hours. Price includes a milkshake from Burgled.

BrainBuilder Spring Holiday Program - We are a Maths Enrichment program aimed at helping children (from Prep to Year 10) build confidence in maths. Our curriculum is designed to challenge children to improve their critical thinking and to solve problem creatively.

Code Camp - Three and 4 day coding camps are multiple Melbourne school-based locations. In Little League Code Camp (Years K-1), Code Camp Spark and Ignite (Years 2-7) and Code Camp Leap (For students having mastered Spark & Ignite Camps), kids create and build their own game, learning about user design and the psychology of user experience. The end result is an app that works on multiple devices, and every kid goes home with their own self-created game.

Yellow Brick Code - teaches young children about the basics of coding through imaginative, fun-filled activities during the school holidays. 25-27 September 2017.
