How does a Big Build Apprenticeship work?

BBA welcomes applications from people of all ages and backgrounds. Once you register(opens in a new window) your interest in becoming a Big Build apprentice or trainee, an AEN team member will contact you to find out what you’re interested in, let you know what your options are and link you to a Group Training Organisation (GTO) that acts as your employer.

The GTO will then match you with potential host employers, put you forward for specific roles, coordinate your initial training, provide an induction and enrol you in a training organisation/tertiary institution course.

You might stay with the same host employer throughout your apprenticeship/traineeship or rotate through different employers and roles, giving you a wider range of skills and experience. You’ll be in paid, full-time employment for the duration of your apprenticeship, no matter which host employer you work with.
