The Stored Grain Research Laboratory (SGRL) is a joint venture between the CSIRO, AWB Limited and the Bulk Handling Companies of Australia. The SGRL has helped the grain industry to develop a series of sound, cost-effective and safe technologies to maintain or enhance the quality of grain during storage. The Laboratory has multi-disciplinary expertise in grain storage technology, with research strengths in biological, chemical and physical methods of insect control, chemical toxicology, biology of the pests, and grain quality. Its capacity to effectively respond and develop industrially acceptable storage strategies to chemical and biological issues is a result of its close association with the Australian grain industry.
