CenITex is an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) shared services agency, set up as a state body in July 2008 by the Victorian Government to centralise ICT support to government departments and agencies.
Information Communication Technology (ICT) in Victoria is dynamic and globally-focused, generating around A$30 billion in revenue and A$2.35 billion in exports annually.
The Victorian Government ICT Strategy was released on 12 February 2013. The strategy provides high-level direction on the design and use information and technology to deliver better government services. It has been developed in response to three drivers: changes in citizen expectations of government services and ICT use; advances in technology; and current gaps in ICT leadership, governance and skills.
