Essential Services Commission
The Commission commenced operations on 1 January 2002 and is Victoria's independent regulator of prescribed essential utility services supplied by the electricity, gas, water and sewerage, ports and rail freight sectors. It also provides advice to the Victorian Government on matters affecting these and other industries. In addition, it administers the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target scheme.
