The former Department of Transport is now known as the Department of Transport, Planning and Local Infrastructure. The transport function of the department will continue to aim to build a safer, fairer and greener transport system for all Victorians. You will find information about the transport functions on this website. From 1 July 2013, the department will also be responsible for planning and local infrastructure. Due to the changes announced by Premier Denis Napthine on 9 April 2013, this section of the directory will be progressively updated.

The division provides strategic advice to government and coordinates across various sectors, in order to ensure sufficient capacity and preparedness to respond in emergency situations.
