Sport and Recreation Victoria, Veterans' Affairs

Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) maximises the economic and social benefits provided to all Victorians by the sport and recreation sector through ensuring greater access and opportunities for participation in sport and recreation, maintaining Victoria's reputation as Australia's leading state for sporting and major events, improving the quality of community sport and recreation facilities, strengthening the capacity of sport and recreation organisations and reinforcing the enriching role that sport and recreation plays in people's lives. The Veterans Unit commemorates, honours and supports veterans in Victoria through a range of initiatives that promote understanding of the service tendered by veterans in war and peace. The Victorian Government is committed to ensuring that ex-service men and women are remembered, honoured and supported in recognition of the service they have offered our nation. By educating future generations about the sacrifices of Victorian veterans, Victorians can honour veterans' service and learn from their legacy.
