Coroners Court of Victoria
The Coroners Court of Victoria has a legal responsibility under the Coroners Act 2008 to undertake independent investigation of reportable deaths and fires for the purposes of finding causes, reducing preventable deaths, and promoting public health and safety.
|Other Bodies||Victorian Coronial Council||The Victorian Coronial Council, established under the Coroners Act 2008, will be the first of its kind in Australia and is designed to be sufficiently flexible to deal with the complexities of the jurisdiction. The Coronial Council will provide advice to the Attorney-General regarding matters of importance to the coronial system and is required to submit an annual report on its operations which is tabled in Parliament.|
