The Treasury is is made up of four groups: Fiscal, Macroeconomic, Revenue and Markets, established to meet four policy outcomes: sound macroeconomic environment; effective government spending and taxation arrangements; effective taxation and retirement income arrangements; and well functioning markets. The Treasury portfolio includes agencies such as the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Australian Securities and Investments Commission, and the Australian Taxation Office.
