Australia and New Zealand are working together to establish a trans-Tasman regulatory scheme for therapeutic products under a new agency known as the Australia New Zealand Therapeutic Products Authority (ANZTPA). The proposed joint regulatory scheme would safeguard public health and safety by regulating the quality, safety and effectiveness or performance of medicines (including complementary medicines) and medical devices, including their manufacture, supply, import, export and promotion.

The Australia-China Council (ACC) was established in 1978 for the purpose of promoting understanding and fostering "people-to-people" relations between Australia and China. The Council funds scholarships, youth exchange programs, Australian Studies in China, cultural exchanges and residency programs as well as projects in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
