Grants Victoria is a directory of Victorian Government grants and assistance. Here you’ll find general information about grants and assistance for individuals, businesses and communities that can help you:

  • fund ideas and initiatives;
  • develop local and national solutions;
  • get assistance in times of hardship; and
  • access further information.

Victorian Government includes Departments, statutory authorities and government business enterprises.

Grants include funding programs, individual grants, fellowships and scholarships.

Assistance includes help or support in various forms for example, government concessions, such as the seniors card and the winter gas concession, goods, such as water saving rebates and shower heads, or funds,  such as the community safety fund grant, for citizens of Victoria.

      Climate Change Innovation Grants

      The Victorian Government is providing $3.8 million for emissions reduction and/or climate change projects in Victoria.

      The Climate Change Innovation Grants will support Victorian organisations to be local leaders in the development of innovative solutions to the challenges of climate change. The grants program is designed to:

      - foster action, innovation and collaboration between businesses, industry, researchers and government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change.
      - drive greater investment into high impact innovations that will enable our communities, environment and businesses to be prosperous in the face of climate change.

      The program will be open to projects from across regional Victoria, Melbourne and surrounding areas.

    • Social Impact Investment for Sustainability Program
      Social Impact Investment for Sustainability Program

      The Victorian Government is supporting investment-ready social enterprises to create new jobs and training opportunities, respond to climate change, avoid and recover waste and improve resource efficiency in the Victorian community.

      The program provides a combination of grant and low interest loan. Investment-ready social enterprises can apply for up to $200,000 as a combination grant and low interest (2.5%) loan to scale up (expand) their operations.

      The program is merit-based and involves two stages – an Expression of Interest (EOI), followed by a comprehensive financial assessment to be conducted by Foresters Group.

    • SV Business - Boosting Productivity Energy Assessment Grant
      SV Business - Boosting Productivity Energy Assessment Grant

      Businesses spending over $20,000 a year on energy can apply for an SV Business – Boosting Productivity energy assessment grant of up to $18000.

      An energy assessment will identify potential energy efficiency improvements for your business, review pricing tariffs, and suitable renewable energy options.

      Two types of grants are available:

      Basic energy assessment – up to $2,000 for an energy assessment. This is suitable for businesses spending between $20,000 and $50,000 on energy each year.

      Detailed energy assessment – up to $15,000 for an energy assessment. This is suitable for businesses spending more than $50,000 on energy each year.

      Both grants require co-funding from the business of 50% of the assessment cost.

      An implementation bonus of up to $3,000 is available when businesses implement one or more eligible recommendations from the assessment report.

    • SV Business - Boosting Productivity Gas Efficiency Grant
      SV Business - Boosting Productivity Gas Efficiency Grant

      Grants of up to $50,000 will be available for businesses to invest in gas-related projects including capital equipment upgrades, non-routine maintenance and repairs, fuel switching, and improved metering. These will improve energy productivity and affordability, support jobs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

    • SV Business - Boosting Productivity Materials Efficiency Grant
      SV Business - Boosting Productivity Materials Efficiency Grant

      Funding is available to manufacturers looking to find materials efficiency solutions to their waste problems, which will result in more efficient use of materials and less waste sent to landfill.

      Grants of up to $13,000 per business are available.

      - Up to $10,000 can be used for expert advice from a materials efficiency assessor (consultant)

      - Up to $3,000 as an incentive, to start putting in place materials efficiency solutions

      The assessor will work with the business to tackle the root cause of the waste problem, understand the ‘true cost of waste’ and develop a business case for investing in cost-effective solutions.

      The grant require co-funding from the business of 50% of the assessment cost.
