Kinder Kits - Meet James and Ryan, makers of Cherub Baby balancing gem

James: So the balancing gems, it's a product that came about from Japan. And so the idea behind it is to promote open-ended play, because there are almost limitless ways in which you can balance the stones and then coordinate the colours.

But basically it promotes an environment where the child will be really focused and concentrating on one thing, but on top of that, without them knowing it, they're using their fine motor skills, they're learning about colours, they're learning about shapes, they're learning about concentration, and they're experiencing emotions, and experiencing how to handle those emotions. Particularly frustration would be one thing, as the stones do fall down, they've gotta put them back up again. And that's something that will obviously come in really handy for them later in life.

To be a part of this project and just have the opportunity to develop something that's going to help kids, especially at that age in kinder when we had our own son in kinder and seeing how he's able to learn and grow through using similar toys and products.

Ryan: And I mean, we've got a lot of, you know, a lot of friends who have, who have kids who are, you know, a few, you know, a couple of years lower than Finn and, you know, so the fact that they'll be, you know, potentially getting the kinder kit as well and, to be able to enjoy something that, you know, we've enjoyed making.

Yeah, it's rewarding.
