Health Minister David Davis today officially launched Arthritis Victoria's Arthritis Map – a practical and interactive online tool for people with arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions.

The Arthritis Map displays the latest information on the prevalence of musculoskeletal conditions, such as arthritis and osteoporosis.

"This new and easy-to-use online tool will also help Victorians quickly find the closest support for arthritis conditions in their local community," Mr Davis said.

"The Arthritis Map will assist Victorians to better manage chronic musculoskeletal conditions by helping them to locate the programs and services they need.

"The online tool uses Google Maps, enabling people to quickly locate local services and instantly retrieve printable door-to-door directions to help them access services with ease."

Mr Davis said arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions affect almost one-third of the population, with these numbers steadily increasing.

"Access to appropriate programs and services to manage and prevent these conditions is vital," Mr Davis said.

"The Arthritis Map will be a useful tool for people living with musculoskeletal conditions, and for health professionals.

"It will provide valuable data to improve future planning service delivery needs across the State," Mr Davis said.
