Community Input - Violence Against Women

Input into the Victorian Coalition Government's new Action Plan to address violence against women and their children is now being sought from the community.

The Victorian Coalition Government is launching consultations to develop the three-year plan, which will set out objectives and areas of focus and action into the future.

The new Action Plan will:

  • cover all forms of violence against women;

  • ensure we work to prevent violence occurring and intervene early, while also responding effectively to violence after it has occurred;

  • link to other important government initiatives such as crime prevention, homelessness, Closing the Gap and connecting DHS service responses; and

  • put forward practical and concrete areas for action

To help inform the development of the Action Plan, the government has released an Action Plan Consultation Framework and is seeking the views of organisations and individuals on all aspects of the framework.
