Muriel Bamblett to deliver the Human Rights Oration
Muriel Bamblett, the CEO of the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency, will deliver the 2009 Human Rights Oration - "Practical self-determination: The right(s) approach to addressing the unfinished business".
Ms Bamblett will focus on self-determination - the most important social determinant of Aboriginal health and wellbeing - and examine how only a human rights approach can make 'closing the gap' a meaningful reality.
The Oration is organised by the Victorian Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commission.
When: 12.30pm to 1.30pm, Tuesday, 8 December 2009
Where: ZINC at Federation Square (on Birrarung Marr).
Federation Square is accessible by train via Flinders Station and tram via Swanston and Flinders Streets.
This is a free event but registrations are required by 1 December.
