The search for our inspirational Melburnians

The 10th Annual Melbourne Awards.

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of The Melbourne Awards which celebrate the individuals and organisations that have helped strengthen the Melbourne community, environment and identity nationally and internationally.

Nominations are now open until 28 March for the Awards' three categories:


  • Contribution to Profile – celebrates projects or activities that have built Melbourne's reputation as a national centre for shopping, business, sport, entertainment and culture.

  • Contribution to Community – is awarded to projects or activities that enhance the lives of residents and workers through new approaches to community services and volunteer work, improvements to accessibility, developments in architecture and design, or improvements to parks, gardens and open spaces.

  • Contribution to Sustainability – recognises projects or activities that create a more environmentally sustainable city through advancements in sustainable innovation and design or the development of new environmental projects or programs.


Previous winners include last year's Melburnian of the Year Harold Mitchell AC, Restauranteur Guy Grossi for contribution to profile by and individual, Energy Matters for contribution by an organisation to the environment and National Australia Bank's Australian-African inclusion program for its contribution to community.
