Nominate a Great Teacher05 March 2013
Nominations are now open for the 2013 Victorian Education Excellence Awards.
The awards celebrate the important contributions made by Victorian government school primary and secondary teachers, principals, business managers, school support staff and early childhood teachers in improving learning outcomes for children and young people.
This year for the first time individuals can nominate somebody who they think is an outstanding educator. This means, for example, that parents can nominate their child’s school or early childhood teacher, principals can nominate their business managers or teachers can nominate their principal. Individuals can also apply for an award without being nominated.
There are 14 award categories to choose from and all applications can be completed online.
Winners receive recognition for their work, professional learning opportunities and up to $50,000 in grants to undertake further research.
Applications and nominations are open to educators working in Victorian government schools and close on Friday 15 March.
