The flu-season in Victoria has peaked earlier than usual and we are now seeing a downward trend in case numbers. The vast majority of cases of Human Swine Flu continue to be mild, and most people with the illness are recovering without any medical treatment. Even though cases of flu are reducing, we should all remain vigilant to minimise our own risk, and to prevent spreading flu viruses to other people.
For the most up-to-date information:

Wandiligong
With the finding of gold in Wandiligong in 1858, population numbers soared from approximately 250 to 2500. It was estimated in those heady years that one in ten of the male population was Chinese. Few remained as permanent residents; if they returned to their homeland, many even took the bones of their dead countrymen with them, rather than leave them alone in an alien place.
Details taken from Nothing Worth Saving - the History of the Wandiligong Preservation Society.
The Wandiligong Preservation Society's Oriental Bridge project received the Overall Winner Prize in the Victorian Community History Awards.
