  • The Victorian Budget Papers will be available for purchase from Information Victoria from 3:00 pm, Tuesday, 5 May, 2009
  • The Commonwealth Budget Papers will be available for purchase from Information Victoria from 8:30 am, Wednesday, 13 May, 2009

You can pre-purchase the papers by ordering over the internet or over the phone, so that you can be the first to receive the papers as soon as they become available.

Researching Victoria

The Spatial Analysis and Research Branch (SAR) of the Department of Planning and Community Development conducts research across a range of topics including population, projections, housing, land development, employment and sustainability. This research explores key issues for Victoria's cities, towns and rural areas and produces free informative publications.

Research Matters is a free quarterly SAR bulletin that explores current research issues as well as highlighting newly released publications, projects and seminars of interest. 2009 Strzelecki Awards Now Open

Strzelecki awards offer the opportunity to strengthen networks with the community, government, environmental groups and industry.Entries are now being accepted for the 2009 Strzelecki Awards, which honour and encourage, excellence and innovation in the sustainable development of Victoria's earth resources sector.

The Victorian Government is committed to developing a minerals, extractive, geothermal and petroleum industry that contributes substantially to the wealth and wellbeing of all Victorians, while meeting contemporary community expectations for social and environmental outcomes.

The Victorian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages

The Victorian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages is progressively enhancing the services it provides to the public. Enhancements include:

  • All standard Victorian Registry certificates are printed on new security-enhanced certificate paper;
  • As part of Government's assistance to victims of the Victorian bushfires, the Registry has created a special application form for people seeking replacement birth, marriage or change of name certificates
  • Victorians can now register their domestic relationships.
