RSS Feeds
What are news feeds?
News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines in one place, as soon as its published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.
Feeds are also known as RSS. RSS is an acronym for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary.
Victoria Online offers the following feeds:
- Victoria Online Updates - provides information about new state government websites and new content published on Victoria Online.
- Victoria Online Latest News - provides the latest news and events from the Victorian State Government.

How do I start using feeds?
To access the news feeds you need an RSS feed aggregator or reader. There are large number of RSS readers available to the public. Some are downloadable programs that are installed on your computer, while others are web-based services that you log in to through your web browser. Some web browsers (such as Firefox, Opera and Safari) are also capable of tracking RSS feeds.
