Taryn Lane is a community development practitioner who is internationally recognised for her pioneering work in community energy and community-led climate transitions. She lives in Central Victoria and is the part-time manager of Australia's first community-owned cooperative wind farm, Hepburn Wind, working there for more than a decade.

Taryn has advised state and territory governments on policy and program development around community energy and best practice renewable energy development, including researching and authoring multiple publications on behalf of government and peak bodies. She has developed innovative models for the community and corporate sector, and has been invited to share her knowledge internationally many times, including in Europe, Hawaii, Africa and Japan. Taryn has a Bachelor and Master of Arts, she is a founding director of RE-Alliance and the Coalition for Community Energy, a director of the Smart Energy Council and a 2017 Winston Churchill Trust Fellow.
