Applying for your learner permit is the first step to getting your licence. To get your Learner Permit you must be at least 16 years of age for a car, and 18 years of age for a motorcycle.

To apply for your licence in Victoria you must be at least 18 years of age and have held your learner permit for a minimum period of time. From 1 July 2008 new probationary licence requirements and a new drive test will be introduced as part of Victoria's Graduated Licensing System (GLS).
