Leading an international economic and trade delegation, Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium visited Victoria on 27 October 2023. While in Victoria, Her Royal Highness:
- attended the Global Victoria Women seminar ‘Strength through diversity: Female business leaders going global’
- attended ‘Victoria-Belgium: a bilateral meeting and gateways to new business opportunities engagements’
- hosted a reception and recital with Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC Governor of Victoria
- visited the Peter McCallum Cancer Centre, the Alfred Medical Centre and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital
- visited AFL House at Marvel Stadium.
Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid was accompanied by Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib, Brussels Minister-President Rudi Vervoort, Walloon Economy Minister Willy Borsus and Flemish Finance Minister Matthias Diependaele.
The visit aimed to strength economic ties between Belgium and Australia.
