Minister for Youth, The Hon. Ros Spence MP recently announced the 2021 Youth Week grants recipients.

“Young people contribute so much to our communities. Victorian Youth Week is all about celebrating the diverse achievements, contributions and perspectives of young Victorians.

“I’m proud to announce that the Victorian Government will be supporting 97 youth-led projects for Victorian Youth Week 2021. Funded projects received $2,000 grants to deliver events developed for local young people, by local young people,” said Minister Spence.

Victorian Youth Week is an annual celebration that recognises contributions, achievements and diverse experiences of Victorians aged between 12 and 25.

Youth week festivities

This year’s festivities include:

  • A weekend of sport, food and markets hosted by Africause to create community connections in a culturally relevant space
  • A music careers expo for 300 young people with workshops, performances and one-on-one consultations from The Push Youth Music Organisation
  • A Youth Leadership Forum hosted by graduates of the City of Monash Young Women’s, Young Men’s and Rainbow Leadership programs.

Victorian Youth Week events are developed in partnership with young people, for young people, and showcase young Victorians’ talents, dreams, and contributions to their local communities. Events are an important opportunity for young people to express their ideas and have their voices heard.

Grants support events that are inclusive and accessible to all young people.
