Applications are now open for grants under the Building Safer Communities Program to support innovative approaches to address the causes of offending, crime and community safety.
The new program includes 2 competitive grant streams for Victorian Councils and not-for-profit organisations:
The Creating Safer Places stream offers grants of $25,000 to $300,000 for councils to fund urban design, education, public consultation and other initiatives to deter crime and to transform public places into safer, more inclusive spaces for use by the community.
The Crime Prevention Innovation Fund awards grants of $25,000 to $300,000 for councils, not-for-profit organisations and other stakeholders for projects that test, deliver or evaluate innovative community safety and crime prevention initiatives.
