Community Advisor Grants

$40,000
Not-for-profit groups
Closed

Helping residents have their say on local development. Later this year the Glenaladale community will be asked to contribute to the environmental assessment of the proposed Fingerboards Mineral Sands Project. The Community Advisor Grant Program will enable locals to access legal expertise to understand and contribute to the Environment Effects Statement (ESS) process. The EES is a key process in determining if the proposal should proceed or not and, if so, under what conditions.

Two grants of up to $40,000 each are available to local not-for-profit community organisations. Funds can only be used to engage legal services to assist the preparation of a submission for the Fingerboards Mineral Sands Project EES process.

How applications will be assessed:

Some of the things we will consider in assessing applications include an organisation’s: ability to show substantial potential impacts from the Fingerboards Mineral Sands Project on your members capability and commitment to take-part in the EES process need for government funding to enable it to participate in the EES process.
