The Victorian Government recognises how important carers are, not only to the people they care for - the people whose lives they improve every day - but to the whole community.

The Supporting Carers Locally Grants Program (SCLGP) offers grants to assist with activities that strengthen the health and wellbeing of carers. The aim of the SCLGP is to increase opportunities for carers to be physically and mentally healthy and socially connected to family, friends, other carers and their local community. This could be through accessible peer support and grassroots community support programs, and resources.

The Victorian Government is funding the SCLGP through ‘Recognising and supporting Victoria’s carers, Victorian Carer Strategy 2018‑22’.
