Emerging technologies powering investment

Emerging technology abounds with AI, blockchain, data analytics, cybersecurity, biotech, IoT and robotics. Digital innovation disrupts old industries and powers new investment opportunities for business and government. There are many big questions to consider. What is on the horizon for VCs? What ethical frameworks and government structures do we need? Where will your business be in 2030? The DIF encourages collaboration to forge the future we want.

 

Tomorrows workforce building digital skills

To meet tomorrows digital technology workforce Victoria’s must diversify and grow. Jobs of the futures will need people with ‘T-shaped’ skills - a combination of strong technical expertise and generalist business skills. Business productivity relies on accelerated technology adoption which demands a skilled workforce. As new jobs emerge everyone will need to build their digital skills to ride the wave of change and maximise opportunity.

 

Digital  changemakers driving inclusion

Socially minded entrepreneurs use digital tools to make society better. Creating unique solutions to address wicked problems like homelessness or domestic violence. They build community through open networks, run hackathons for humanity, develop games for change and platforms for social impact using big data for social insights. Victoria’s tech for good movement is active in driving digital social innovation and championing digital inclusion.

Festival Regional Feature Events

The Digital Innovation Festival is expanding across Victoria to all nine Victorian Regional Partnership areas from 2018-2020. The regional DIF program is funded under the Connecting Regional Communities Program (CRCP), specifically to improve and accelerate technology adoption and innovation in regional businesses and communities.  The Regional Development Victoria officers engage with local entrepreneurs and representatives ensuring relevance to regional issues and showcasing local innovations. 

Binary Shift

27 August

Binary ShiftBinary Shift is one of Australia’s top conferences focused specifically on regional innovation, technology and startups. Founded in Gippsland in 2017, our conference is run by the region, for the region.
