The Victorian Government’s water saving rules are aimed at providing efficient, permanent state-wide rules.
Target 155 is a voluntary water efficiency program to encourage metropolitan Melbourne householders to limit their consumption to 155 litres per person per day.
Warm season grasses such as Couch, Buffalo and Kikuyu require less water and are well suited to Melbourne's harsh summer weather - surviving and often thriving, on sporadic summer rainfall.
DELWP manages Victoria’s groundwater, catchments and waterways, infrastructure, water saving and re-use projects, flood management, governance and water legislation, in partnership with a network of government agencies and water authorities.
Key restrictions may be in place for urban water users under the various stages of restriction, from Stage One (mild) to Stage Four (severe).
