Our position

Infrastructure Victoria’s 30-year Infrastructure Strategy includes 137 recommendations. 98% have been accepted.

In December 2016, Infrastructure Victoria presented the 30-year Infrastructure Strategy to government. 134 of its recommendations have been accepted in full, in part or in principle.

The Victorian Infrastructure Plan outlines infrastructure priorities through nine key sectors. The government response details the position on each recommendation. A brief explanation of the position steps toward implementation is also included.

Supported position types

In its response, the government may take one of three positions. These are:

  • Supported
    The recommendation is supported in full, is fully funded and will be implemented in its entirety.
  • Supported in principle
    Broad direction of the recommendation is supported. Specific actions are subject to further budget consideration or external factors.
  • Partly supported
    The objective of the recommendation is supported. For optimal outcome, implementation may vary from Infrastructure Victoria recommendation.

Other recommendations

Two further recommendations are unsupported and one is subject to future announcements.
