Integrity agencies and what they do

Victoria's integrity agencies receive enquiries and complaints about a wide variety of public sector failings: which agency can handle my complaint?

The Local Government Inspectorate is the integrity agency for local councils in Victoria and investigates breaches of the Local Government Act.

The Inspectorate regularly receives referred complaints or enquiries about council matters from the Victorian Ombudsman, Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC) and Victorian Auditor General's Office (VAGO).

These agencies have collaborated to publish informative guides to help the community understand what each agencies does and what types of complaints they handle.
