  • Learn Local providers can download eligible Microsoft products covered under the Adult, Community and Further Education Board Microsoft Agreement free of charge.

  • The Adult, Community and Further Education Board Microsoft Agreement enables (under terms and conditions) Learn Local providers, who are registered with the Board, to download eligible Microsoft products licensed under this Agreement.

  • To obtain and continue to use the Microsoft software products, Learn Local providers must continue to be registered with the Board. If either an organisation is no longer registered as a Learn Local provider or the Microsoft Agreement ceases, then all software licensed under this agreement must be removed from all laptops and desktop computers on which such software is installed.

Learn Local providers must also complete the Board’s Microsoft Census each year.

    Licensing

All licenses can be downloaded free of charge provided the Learn Local provider has been verified as eligible by Insights Enterprises Pty Ltd.

How do I notify the Board of license usage after deploying software?

You must maintain a record of how many computers/laptops have installed software under this arrangement so that you can respond to the annual Microsoft Agreement Census.

  • Why do I need to complete the Microsoft Annual Census?

Completing the Board's Annual Microsoft Census is one of the obligations that Learn Local providers agree to when they download the software licenses. In order for the Board to continue to maintain its Microsoft Agreement, the Board (through the department) must report the number of licenses used each year by Learn Local providers.

None of my information from last year has changed. Do I still have to complete the survey?

Yes, the census must be completed each year even if your data has not changed.

I haven’t purchased anything this year under the Microsoft Agreement – do I still have to complete the census?

Yes, under the Terms and Conditions of the Adult, Community and Further Education Board Microsoft Agreement, each registered Learn Local provider must complete the census each year.

  • No, licenses for operating systems are not transferable from one machine to another.

  • Microsoft provides free online training about some products. For more information visit the Microsoft learn website. This training is arranged in a range of ‘just in time’ modules to assist in understanding the capability and to become familiar with the features of Microsoft products. The modules are grouped according to products, role of the user and complexity.
