Victoria is joining other leading states and countries around the world in playing its part to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and keep the global temperature rise to under two degrees.

Premier of Victoria, Daniel Andrews today announced the government's commitment to reaching net zero carbon emissions in Victoria by 2050, a key recommendation of the 2015 Independent Review of the Climate Change Act 2010.

To help inform and reach this target, Sustainability Victoria will lead on the delivery of a new voluntary pledge program for all Victorians, TAKE2.

TAKE2 is Victoria's collective climate change pledge program. It enables all Victorians including state and local government, businesses, community, educational organisations and individuals to be part of Victoria's action on climate change and pledge their commitment to take action.

Pledges will contribute to Victoria's first interim target to 2020 and inform future climate change policy.

TAKE2 is an opportunity to influence real action across government and business, and help to protect the future of our local communities and the environment.

Pledge to be part of Victoria's action on climate change at www.take2.vic.gov.au and encourage others to make their own pledge by sharing it with your social networks.
