The Positive Start initiative is intended to provide additional camps and programs for students in 2022 and 2023. It does not apply to existing camp and program bookings schools already have in place.
If a school has already booked camps or programs for 2022 or Term 1 and Term 2 2023, the school can book additional camps and programs through the Positive Start initiative.
Schools may book multiple camps through the Positive Start initiative.
Schools should not cancel existing arrangements in order to rebook the same arrangements as part of Positive Start.
Where a school seeks to cancel existing arrangements in order to rebook under Positive Start, camps and program providers may refuse to accept the school’s booking under Positive Start.
Schools are also liable for any cancellation or other fees arising under any agreement between the school and provider for the cancellation of existing bookings. Schools will not be financially supported by Positive Start for cancellations of any existing bookings.
Eligible schools have received an invitation to book a camp for students in years 3 to 12, through the Positive Start program.
School camps support and enhance student learning and personal development.
How it works
- Eligible schools may book a camp through the Positive Start program.
- The school books directly with the camp using our directory of approved providers.
- The camp invoices one of the outdoor sector peak body organisations, which have been contracted to manage payment for Positive Start camps.
Transport
The cost of transport to and from each camp is included with each booking.
Schools will need to discuss transport arrangements when booking with the provider. Each provider will pay for the transport and claim back through one of the outdoor sector peak body organisations.
