The Victorian Inspectorate is required by legislation to prepare various reports for the Parliament of Victoria, in some cases annually and in other cases bi-annually.  These reports are tabled before both Houses and are therefore publicly available, with two exceptions:

  • Reports dealing with the inspection of records and related documents held by the Public Interest Monitor (PIM)
  • Reports concerned with lawfully intercepted telecommunications material are made directly to the responsible Minister

In addition, the Victorian Inspectorate  may also at any time prepare a special report to be transmitted to each House of the Parliament on any matter relating to the performance of its duties and functions.
