The Volunteering Innovation Fund encourages innovation and inspires more Victorians to volunteer for nature. The project aims to include people from all walks of life to volunteer in our parks and forests, benefiting the environment, volunteers and the community.

More than $300,000 has been awarded to 20 innovative and exciting ideas for the first round of the fund. These include restoring koala habitats, partnerships to combat mental health challenges and adopting new citizen science technologies to monitor species.

Find the full list of successful recipients on the Parks Victoria website.

Round 2 is now open with funding up to $50,000 per project available. Round 2 will close at 5pm on Thursday 6 May 2021.

This $2 million investment is part of Victoria’s Great Outdoors to encourage innovation, inspire more Victorians to volunteer for nature, and attract a greater diversity of people volunteering in parks and forests.
