How we plan to reduce family violence

To prevent family violence from happening, we’ll use a number of plans to put victims at the centre of support, keep children safe and hold perpetrators to account.

We’ll need commitment from the community and support agencies to make sure family violence doesn’t happen. Reforms will take years, and sometimes a generation to change the attitudes and behaviours that cause family violence.

The following plans will help guide our reforms:

  • [Ending Family Violence – Victoria’s plan for Change (10 Year Plan)]
  • [Family Violence Rolling Action Plan 2017-2020]
  • [Safe and Strong – A Victorian Gender Equality Strategy]
  • [Free from Violence: Victoria’s strategy to prevent family violence and all forms of violence against women]
