Ageing well in Victoria action plan 2026–2030: strengthening wellbeing for older people sets out priorities for supporting older people in Victoria. The action plan supports all older people to live healthy, connected and meaningful lives.
In Victoria, more than one in 5 people are over 60 years. By 2046, it’s projected that older people will make up one quarter of our population. More people are living longer, healthier and more active lives than ever before.
This action plan builds on the achievements of the Ageing well in Victoria action plan 2022–2026.
Our priorities
The action plan is guided by 4 priority areas.
Resilient, connected older people
Supporting older people to build and maintain strong social, cultural and community connections. This fosters participation, purpose and belonging.
Tech-savvy older people
Strengthening digital inclusion, access and confidence. Older people can fully take part in an increasingly digital world.
Valuing older people
Promoting safety, inclusion, dignity and respect. Recognising the contribution older people make to Victorian communities.
Healthy and independent older people
Supporting older people to stay healthy, well and independent. Older people can continue ageing well at home and in their community.
Next steps
The Victorian Government will continue working in partnership with older people, community and stakeholders to implement the action plan.
Together, we can continue building a society where everyone can age well.
