Championing Victorian Industry within Schools is an event that recognises and celebrates the outstanding achievements and contribution of businesses and employers that provide valuable workplace learning opportunities to school students.

Industry partnerships are vital to the success of secondary school reforms and support workplace learning for students through programs such as:

  • Head Start
  • school-based apprenticeships and traineeships
  • structured workplace learning
  • work experience opportunities.

The event showcases businesses and provides an opportunity to give our thanks and demonstrate future opportunities within Victorian secondary schools.

With schools working hard to expand the VCE and implement VCE Vocation Major the support of industry in providing hands-on experience and training for Victorian students has never been more important.

What we heard from the 2021 event:

I’ve really enjoyed being a part of this program. It’s given me great opportunities to train young minds in plumbing. It’s an opportunity for students but a great opportunity for us as well. We’ve bridged the gap between education and the workforce Industry employer

We’ve seen a significant increase of students involved in Head Start in particular (as a result of being part of the program) so I feel like we are moving in the right direction Careers Coordinator
