About

Christine Unsworth AM helmed the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal between 1996 and 2012. In that time, she presided over an unprecedented growth in fundraising with over $160 million in donations. Of the 80 years of fundraising efforts, more than half of the Good Friday Appeal’s total donations came during Christine’s 16-year leadership.

The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal is one of Australia’s most recognisable charities. The funds that it raises makes possible a suite of programs and resources to ensure children receiving care at The Royal Children’s Hospital have access to first-class outcomes. The charity engages the community for donations and support throughout the year, culminating in an all-day telethon on Good Friday.

Christine’s career-long support of charity and community saw her recognised in 2014 when she was made a Member of the Order of Australia. She is a shining beacon of the charitable spirit of Victorians and their ready willingness to dig deep for causes that truly matter.
