Dr Casson is a building and construction sector leader with significant experience spanning government, industry, and the not-for-profit sector. She is Chairperson of the Victorian Government’s Building Industry Consultative Council, the first woman appointed to that position in the Council’s 21-year history. She is also an independent Director of Infrastructure Victoria and an advisory board member of the Victorian Skills Authority.
Dr Casson is a published author, academic and an experienced non-executive director. She was previously President of the construction worker entitlement body Incolink; the first woman appointed to that position in the organisation’s 32-year history. Dr Casson was also CEO of Master Builders Victoria; the first woman appointed to that position in the Association’s 147-year history. She was previously Chairperson of the Victorian Government’s Sick Pay Guarantee Ministerial Advisory Committee and CEO of the Committee for Geelong.
Dr Casson has held a range of board, executive and advisory positions throughout her career in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the USA covering government relations, corporate diplomacy, policy development and implementation, industrial relations, major projects, international engagement, economic development, inward investment, trade relations, education and skills.
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Written Communication and a Masters degree in Politics and Government.
