Margaret has worked in palliative care for over three decades and was involved in the early development of palliative care in Victoria, supporting independence, control and quality of life for individuals at the end of their life.
Margaret was the foundation chair of Palliative Care Nursing at Monash University and the founding person for three palliative care services across Melbourne.
Her impact on policy development is highly valued because she is a clinician who understands the complexities of service delivery.
Margaret’s focus on dignified access and equity for dying people, and community awareness-raising of death and dying has undoubtedly improved palliative care nationally.
