Family Violence Principal Practitioners have been established in the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Family Violence Principal Practitioners are providing advice at the highest level to enhance family violence practice, knowledge and leadership across their relevant departments.
They are promoting workforce capability development on the dynamics of family violence and best practice approaches, supporting cultural change in workforces that have a growing connection with victim survivors and perpetrators of family violence, including those areas of operation for which family violence is a new area of focus.
They are leading practice reform in each department and support the key priorities for practice development identified by the Royal Commission into Family Violence and Ending Family Violence: Victoria's Plan for Change (10 Year Plan).
