Participants in the ‘Fast Track program’ piloted last year are benefitting from the specialised training they received.

The Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria (DVRCV) responded to the increased need for managers and leaders with specialist family violence experience and expertise by piloting the program between September and December 2018.

Sixteen specialist family violence practitioners took part in the program, which offered intensive formal professional development to support their transition into management and leadership positions.

The program supports the ‘fast track’ of the development of skills and knowledge required for the senior level specialist capabilities outlined in the Responding to Family Violence Capability Framework.

Fast Track was delivered by a multi-mode approach, incorporating workshop sessions, individual coaching and mentoring opportunities, a community of practice, workplace reflection exercises and a presentation at the end of the program.

Participants reported an increase in confidence across all capabilities, including work which is directly relevant to senior management and leadership work and public advocacy.
