So I'm here today really to talk about my experiences with the package and share with anybody who might be thinking about applying.
I just want to let them know that it's a safe process and that being acknowledged is a really important part of healing.
Without the reparation package, it's sort of, it's part of the healing but it still has never been about money for me.
It's just, I think just that recognition.
And there is support beyond the package so once you receive your reparations that it doesn't end there.
I want people to know that stolen generation isn't just the forcibly removed.
Those of us that have been institutionalized, fostered, adopted.
The package is organized so beautifully.
It is trauma informed, culturally informed.
It's a very simple application process.
I encourage anyone that's thinking of applying to do it.
It's worth the journey.
