V/O: It is established in legislation in Part 11 of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008.

V/O: MARAM was introduced so that organisations who come into contact with people who may be experiencing or using family violence can offer a safe response.

V/O: MARAM applies to many organisations across education, justice, community and health services.

V/O: If your organisation is prescribed as a “MARAM Framework Organisation”..

V/O: .. it has a legal obligation to align organisational policies, procedures, practice guidance and tools to four pillars of practice to ensure the organisation promotes:

a shared understanding of what family violence is;

consistent and collaborative responses to family violence;

a commitment to continuously improving the organisational response.
