Hi, my name is Sara. I live with my husband and four kids in Melbourne. We’ve been in Australia for over 7 years.
My daughter Retal has attended Three-Year-Old Kinder. Now she is attending a kindergarten program for Four-Year-Olds.
We found out about the three-year-old kinder program when Retal was two. My husband and I were researching childcare centres.
The website has some great information about how to enrol. There’s also a map to find kinders in your area.
You can also enter the date of birth of your child, and the calculator will let you know when they can start kindergarten.
All children who turn 3 years of age before the 30th of April are eligible for Three-Year-Old kinder for that year.
We got in touch with some services nearby and were told more about their kindergarten programs. We then started the enrolment process.

You should plan ahead and try and get your enrolments in early.

Retal is now attending the Four-Year-Old Kindergarten. All the skills and confidence she is learning will help she get ready for school.
