Making connections

[Mark]
So the social side of the grad program is definitely like a big plus.

[Stephanie]
It's really lovely, we've got a really great cohort.

[Mellanie]
The grad cohort that I have are so awesome.

[Stephanie]
You do a lot of stuff together at the start of the year especially so you can really form friendships.

[Mark]
In my first department I think there were 18 or so grads at the start. Everybody was pretty keen to kind of organise and plan things.

[Mellanie]
The department where I work, we have our own little group: we always have hangouts; we meet up every week online.

[Evan]
As well as there's many opportunities throughout the year where graduates catch up.

[Stephanie]
There's been lots of after work drinks. Lots of lunches.

[Mark]
You know, we've formed a social netball team, we play netball every Tuesday now.

[Tom]
It's been really great to chat with everyone and likeminded individuals having similar experiences.

[Mark]
But I think everyone also comes from like very different walks of life.

[Evan]
The friends and like the people I've met through the program I would've never have met them otherwise.

[Tom]
And so it's really interesting to learn about everyone's stories and hear about their experiences and why they're part of the program and what they're hoping to get out of it.

[Stephanie]
I was really pleasantly surprised with how much cross over we had with graduates in other departments.

[Mellanie]
Even when we are online, we all got to meet each other and get to know each other on a very personal level which I did not expect coming in, so it's just been awesome getting to know everyone.
