Melodie founded Teach for Australia over 10 years ago, with the vision of an Australia where all children, regardless of background, are able to attain an excellent education.
The non-profit organisation recruits and develops top talent (high achieving graduates and career changers from non-teaching backgrounds) to teach and lead in schools serving low socio-economic communities.
She has partnered across Australia with schools, governments, corporates and philanthropic supporters and with the University of Melbourne, Deakin University and the Australian Catholic University to recruit and develop over 1000 teachers nationally (500 in Victoria).
Eighty-five per cent remain in education and have become a pipeline of teachers and leaders committed to educational equity and driving improved student outcomes, change and innovation in the education system.
