Multicultural Venues Program
About the program
The objective of the Multicultural Venues Program is to provide support to Victoria’s multicultural community organisations towards the cost of hiring venues for community meetings and gatherings.
These activities must support Victoria’s multicultural communities to:
- come together and share their history and traditions
- build connections and networks within their community.
Funding available
The Multicultural Venues Program will offer grants of up to $5,000 to eligible multicultural community organisations.
Eligible activities
Hire of venues will be supported for activities that are aligned with the Program objectives. Examples include:
- organisational and community meetings (e.g. Annual General Meeting, committee meetings)
- community gatherings, including those that promote intercultural dialogue and engagement
- seminars
- educational activities (e.g. homework clubs, language classes)
- rehearsal activities (e.g. choir, dance, music, sport, art classes or practice sessions)
- health and wellbeing activities (e.g. yoga, Tai Chi classes)
- fundraising activities – but only where all funds raised go to the applicant organisation
- paid ticketed activities – but only where any profit raised goes to the applicant organisation.
Funding priorities
The Victorian Government acknowledges the additional challenges faced by some communities and is committed to prioritising the following groups:
- applications from organisations located in rural and regional Victoria (up to 20% of available funding).
- applications from organisations owned and managed by priority new and emerging communities (up to 30% of available funding).
The priority new and emerging community eligibility refers only to the countries and ethnicities listed on our priority list (please see our list below).

As the Victorian State election will be held on Saturday 28 November 2026, the Victorian Government will assume a caretaker role from 6.00 pm on Tuesday 3 November 2026 until such time that either it becomes clear that the incumbent government will be returned, or when a new government is commissioned.
Applicants should be aware that:
- all information about this grant process represents the position of the current government only, and is subject to change
- the incoming government may decide to not proceed with this grant process.
